{jewelry}

Sometimes I'm in a super crafty mood.... and to solve this, well, I do crafty things.

....like make jewerly.

These pieces were made from charms that I have been collecting from random places like funky little shops and charms that have been given to me by my lovely friends and family.

Over break I was feeling particularly crafty and I made three necklaces...
and developed ideas for others that haven't yet been made.

Supplies, supplies, supplies!!!
Not shown is my Liver of Sulfer station. Liver of Sulfur
is pretty much one of my favorite little known secrets to jewerly making.
It tarnishes silver jewerly (I use it for charm pieces and silver
chains) to give the jewerly a nice patina and then
you just polish to get the desired silverness for each individual piece.
Pretty nifty, huh?

 Not-so-Naughty Nautical:
(actually wearing this one as I type this!)

Milagros Inspired:

French Inspired (obvs):
the coin is a Repulic of France Franc, very old school

My cupcake stand also doubles as a jewerly-making stand.

So basically all I want to do for the rest of my life is make jewelry
and other fun and crafty things.
Can't I just do that? Please?

{Christmas Time}

It has been just a little over one month since Christmas-but it feels like it's been ages!

Here are some photos of what goes on in the de Limur household around the Christmas festivities! Of course these photos don't even begin
to capture all the things we did over Christmas- who we celebrated with
and all the different activities that we squeezed into the craziness of the holidays.

{The Progession of the Christmas Tree}
We cut our trees down from our property as a family, and multi-family
tradition.

DONE!

I LOVE setting the table- for any occasion.
 I feel like it is one of the
most important
aspects of any dinner party
....of course the company is important too!

 Christmas Eve. Super lowkey and sweet.
I love this picture of the boys- captures the essence of the night
{slightly blurry but fun!}

'Till Next Year!

{Thanksgiving}

Thanksgiving was a very long, long time ago... but it provided a much needed R&R from school and a chance to be home and hang out with family.

These are from my grandmother, Nanna's and great-grandmother's collection.

The elephant has a helicopter spining top, the toy soldier
beats his drum when he is wound up, the cat rolls around with its
ball of yarn and the hen clucks and lays eggs.
Fun, fun, fun!

Over Thanksgiving weekend, our family friends the Finneran's, had an exhibit of their vintage and AHH-mazing toy collection. They have been collecting their toys from all over the world on their various travels. This inspired us get out {AND PLAY WITH!!!} our own vintage toys that are normally displayed up in our kitchen cupboards.
